E3 2015: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Won't be Game's Final Title

The remake of fan-favorite Final Fantasy VII is getting a remake, but the title Final Fantasy VII Remake is not permanent.

"Essentially we put that there to say 'yes, this is a remake,'" executive producer Shinji Hashimoto told us in an interview. Hashimoto went on to say more info on the game and its final title will be made available during the northern-hemisphere's winter. (December)

Last winter saw the first ever PlayStation Experience, held in Las Vegas in December. During the event, Sony announced Final Fantasy VII would be coming to the PS4, but excitement waned somewhat when it was learned the version announced was a straight port from the PC version of the game.

. Hashimoto said his team is looking at the original game to find what needs to be changed to bring the game into the modern era.

That means the game is not just a visual upgrade, but it will be remade entirely. What that will mean remains to be seen, but even though the game will be a proper remake of the beloved PlayStation classic, "Final Fantasy VII Remake" won't be the game's final title.
