Guardians of the Galaxy: Here's Why Baby Groot Didn't Want Drax to See Him Dancing

Fanboys can agree on one thing: Guardians of the Galaxy's Baby Groot is adorable. But why did the endearing little plant stop dancing when Drax turned around at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy? According to director James Gunn, the answer lies in a deleted scene.

Guesting on Doug Benson's , Gunn revealed that an earlier scene in the movie -- which was inevitably left out of the final cut -- showed big Groot dancing to "Livin' Thing" by ELO, much to Drax's dismay. It turns out Baby Groot was still embarrassed about the incident.

"There was actually a scene that we cut from the movie where big Groot was dancing to 'Livin' Thing' by ELO. And it wasn't such an elaborate dance. It was more that he was just moving up and down like this, and Drax was dismissive and gave him this look like he was a loser when he did that," said Gunn.

"Dancing is ludicrous to Drax. I don't think he understands it. If Drax owned a town, if he was a mayor, the first law would be no dancing. But yeah, so at the end of the movie, little baby Groot didn't want to get caught dancing, because he would kill him."

Is this the last we've seen of the dancing Baby Groot? We'll have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theatres on May 5, 2017 to find out...
