Avengers: Age of Ultron is primed to hit the $1 billion mark today.
reports that this will make it the third Marvel film to reach that lofty amount, after the first Avengers and Iron Man 3. That will also make it the top-grossing U.S. domestic film of 2015, surpassing Furious 7. It's expected to reach $339 million in domestic dollars.
Age of Ultron opened at $191.3 million in the U.S., making it the second-biggest opening weekend of all time (behind the original Avengers). Outside the U.S., its top markets have been South Korea ($76 million), China ($69 million), and the U.K. ($63 million).
Last weekend, Age of Ultron held onto its top spot at the box office but faces competition now from Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road.
