The Coalition recently warned that Gears of War 4 spoilers would begin popping up in the next few days. That starts now, as Microsoft has released a new video showing a playthrough of the first 20 minutes of the game's campaign.
The video (above) features a brief introduction by The Coalition's Rod Fergusson and Matt Searcy, who explain the purpose of this prologue. It both established one of the major new characters (First Minister Jinn) and serves as a tutorial for newcomers and returning players. It also gets you into the action really quickly; players are in the middle of a fight about a minute after it starts.
Afterward, Fergusson and Searcy continue to reflect on making the prologue, with Searcy saying, "The Prologue was really cool for us. We got to explore some places the game had never been before, like the Pendulum Wars. We also got to reconnect with a bunch of the characters again." Fergusson then noted it was "nice to see Dom again."
The campaign can be played cooperatively by two players, both online and in split-screen.
Gears 4 launches on October 11 for Xbox One and PC. As with Forza Horizon 3's recent release, buying the Ultimate Edition gets you early access--October 7, in this case. Also like Forza, it's an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning that if you buy a digital copy, you get access on both Xbox One and PC. Pre-loading has begun on Xbox One and should be available on PC soon.
