After confirming a new Pokemon Go catch bonus feature earlier this week, Niantic has now revealed another new feature for the popular mobile game.
In a blog post today, Niantic revealed an update to the Pokemon Go Gym system, the key change being that you can bring six Pokemon to battle instead of just one at friendly gyms.
There is also a change coming to the CP level of your Pokemon.
"The CP of the Pokemon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokemon's battle capabilities," Niantic explained. "No matter what your level, you can now have an impact on your team's Gym."
You can get a closer look at the new Pokemon Go Gym features in the image gallery above. The update that adds this feature is coming sometime in the future, though a date has not been announced.
The announcement of Pokemon Go's new catch bonus feature (read more about it here) and the Gym changes come after Niantic teased "exciting features and changes" for the game. In September, the CEO of The Pokemon Company teased a multiplayer battle mode for Pokemon Go, though this feature has not yet been delivered.
Pokemon Go launched in July and reached a staggering 500 million downloads; it reportedly still brings in $2 million every day. Even The Pokemon Company was not expecting it to be such a hit, as CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said the reaction was "10 times or even 100 times bigger than we expected." The game has also led to significant increases in Pokemon game and trading card sales.
