Halloween is quickly approaching, and numerous games are marking the occasion with in-game updates and events.

It can be hard to keep track of everything that's happening, and you may want to ensure you spend some time with certain games over the next few weeks. Overwatch and Rocket League, for instance, have introduced new items that can only be unlocked for a limited time (or at least until next October). You can expect more events to be announced in the days and weeks to come; we still haven't heard about anything from Grand Theft Auto V which is bound to having something in store again.

We've compiled a list of many of the Halloween-themed events happening in games right now. Check them out below, and let us know what you'll be playing (as well as any we missed) in the comments below.

Overwatch is celebrating Halloween with its second-ever seasonal event. Much like the Summer Olympics one in August, Loot Boxes have been temporarily replaced with new ones that feature more than 100 themed items. These include skins, emotes, victory poses, voice lines, and more.

Additionally, there's a special Brawl mode available. Unlike everything else in the game, this is a cooperative experience, pitting a team of four players against AI-controlled enemies. And before you ask, the crows don't do anything.

Destiny

Although Bungie has not yet officially announced Destiny's Halloween plans, we know last year's Festival of the Lost is returning. A leak has given us a look at many of the items that will be up for grabs, including new masks, shaders, emotes, and a sparrow. Whether the event will function like 2015's remains to be seen, but we do know there's now a better way to store the masks you obtain.

Much like last year, Rocket League has temporarily added new items to its rotation of unlocks. These Halloween-themed items include things like a rocket trail that leaves behind skulls and an incredibly cute ghost topper. If you missed out on last year's items, like the excellent candy-corn rocket trail, those have also been brought back for the duration of the event.

WoW's annual Hallow's End event returns again this year, allowing you trick-or-treat at inns in Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, and the Broken Isles. You'll receive either treats or money that can be spent on special items. New items this year include one that puts a Banshee costume on a party member and another that affects your pet. There's also a seasonal boss--the Headless Horseman--to fight, stink bombs to pelt the enemy faction with, and more.

Smite's most recent update, 3.19, brought back the Halloween version of the map in Arena mode, decorating it with creepy things and updating the look of the AI-controlled minions. It also reintroduced the Scary Potion as Scare Tactics. It's only available in Arena during the event and can be used on a foe to scare them: They'll either receive a jump scare in the form of a character who flashes on screen, or they'll hear the sound effect of Loki's Ultimate. 3.19 also added two new skins to the Halloween chest that you can see above.

Additionally, a limited-time sale will drop the price by half on select Halloween-style skins, such as Space Monkey Hun Batz, Pajama Party Kumbhakarna, and Elite Agent Apollo.

You can receive a free Crow Caller from The Elder Scrolls Online's in-game Crown Store, which kicks off a quest called The Witchmother's Bargain. Completing this earns you the ability to summon a cauldron that turns you and members of your group into the undead for two hours. Killing bosses while in this form gives you the chance to loot Plunder Skulls, which contain Witches Festival goodies like masks, special recipes, and more. The cauldron will remain yours if you get your hands on it, but it'll lose the ability to transform you after the event ends.

The most recent update for Heroes of the Storm added new content and prepared it for the Hallow's End event. Starting on October 25, all matches will reward 50 percent bonus XP, and playing a total of 15 matches (outside of Brawls, Custom Games, and Training) will net you a Deputy Valla portrait. Superheroes (and villains) can dress up for Halloween too, but there's more to DC Universe Online's event than just that. Both sides have an NPC they can speak to kick things off, with each day presenting a mission that can be completed to earn Spooky Bites. These can then be cashed in for Halloween themed outfits, Base/League Hall decorations, and more. Spooky Bites can also be purchased outright, and The Vault has been decorated for the duration of the event.
