The family-friendly World of Final Fantasy is getting a demo that you'll be able to get your hands on next week. The new game has a more cutesy art style than Final Fantasy XV and a combat system that is comparable to the series prior to Final Fantasy X.
The playable demo releases for PS4 and Vita on October 17. It features protagonists Reynn and Lann in their Lilikin and Jiant forms, meeting classic Final Fantasy characters such as Cloud, Squall, and Lightning. Finish the demo and you'll get to battle and capture Magitek Armor P at the full game's coliseum.
Alongside the demo announcement, Square Enix revealed the game's opening cinematic that uses two different animation styles to tell its story. The first looks like CG cutscenes from the game, while the second goes for a more anime look. You can watch it in the video above.
World of Final Fantasy launches October 25 on PS4 and Vita. You can pick it up at its regular $60 price or buy a $120 Collector's edition that includes three mini figures, digital bonus content, and a 3D pop-up book, among other things. To learn more about the Final Fantasy spin-off, you can read GameSpot's preview here.
The next mainline entry in the series is Final Fantasy XV, and it releases on November 29 for PS4 and Xbox One. You can watch the first 45 minutes of that game here.
