Original Story: With a single, uncaptioned image, Rockstar got seemingly everyone excited about the Red Dead series today, following a teaser on Sunday. Today's teaser was an image that showed the silhouettes of seven mysterious characters.
Now, Square Enix has put out its own take on the image, using the same basic makeup as Rockstar's image, but with silhouettes of Final Fantasy XV's four main characters, Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto.

In the case of Final Fantasy XV, we know that those four characters are the stars of the role-playing game. However, it remains to be seen who the seven characters seen in the Red Dead teaser are. It's pretty cool to see a big-name brand do something like this, even if it's just a push to capitalize on the buzz.
Rockstar started teasing a Red Dead announcement on Sunday, when it changed the images on its social channels to a red Rockstar logo and published a Red Dead-style tweet. Today, Rockstar followed that up with the image of the silhouettes.
Both teasers were released at 9 AM ET, so there might be something else coming out tomorrow and later in the week. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more information as it becomes available.
Fans have waited a long time for a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, as the game came out in May 2010. It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but not PC. Rockstar made the game playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility earlier this year. Meanwhile, Red Dead Revolver, the first game in the series, was recently released on PS4.
Take-Two, which owns Rockstar Games, is enjoying a strong day on the stock market, as the company's share value rose by more than 6.5 percent today following the teasers. Given that Red Dead Redemption sold 13 million copies, the possibility of a new game in the series is something investors are excited about.
