Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience includes The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes, and all of their DLC. It's out now for PS4 and Xbox One at a price of $50, releasing for PC at $40 on October 13. You can watch its launch trailer below.
The Definitive edition features all of the already-released content from the two Metal Gear Solid games, including The Phantom Pain's multiplayer DLC. It won't, however, come with the Mission 51 video from The Phantom Pain's collector's edition or a completed version of that mission. Mission 51 featured Snake venturing to an island to track down two characters whose fates are left open at the end of The Phantom Pain. It is not known why the mission went unfinished.
"I'm afraid we have no current plans to further develop for Mission 51," the official Metal Gear Twitter account said. When asked why it didn't finish the ending, it said, "Because it's already finished and released last year."
Ground Zeroes received a score of 8/10 in GameSpot's review for its "challenging and engrossing stealth mechanics," but critic Peter Brown thought its story raised more questions than answered. The Phantom Pain, on the other hand, earned a score of 10/10 in its review, which said, "There has never been a game in the series with such depth to its gameplay, or so much volume in content. The best elements from the past games are here, and the new open-world gameplay adds more to love on top."
